Marking
The aim of our coaching stories is to share the realities of being jobbing coaches. This week I’ve been focusing on the behind the scenes effort that goes on to support our front facing work. This is not always glamourous but it’s part of the job.
Both Rebecca and I have been ploughing through lots of marking. I say ploughing through, it’s a job I could easily put off, not my favourite one. However, once I get into marking mode I actually find it really satisfying. Reading delegates’ summary of their coaching journey from their first nervous attempts at coaching to then hear their delight as they recognise their growth in skill and amazement as they make a difference in those coaching conversations. I love to hear how they are putting those skills into their everyday roles, holding conversations differently on a ward or facing a more difficult conversation which can be pivotal to someone’s success.
So congratulations to those delegates coming to the end of their EMCC Foundation or Practitioner programmes, you’ll shortly be receiving your feedback sheets and certificates!
