There’s a phrase I often hear, “Feel the fear and do it anyway”. Today I’m definitely feeling the fear. For me it’s the fear of blogging. I’ve never seen myself as someone who blogs or ‘writes’. I was trained as a scientist, gaining a degree in Physics, those of you who know me will be astonished by this.

At school English homework was always a struggle, my dad would sit patiently by my side urging me to use the dictionary to improve my spelling and vocabulary. So, over the years I’ve got it in my head “I don’t write”.

My wonderful business partner, Rebecca, asked some questions of me the other day, to gently challenge my thinking, as good coaches do. So, I looked for inspiration, thank you Nick Wright and Lynn Scott, I love reading your blogs. You write so well and, in my thinking, easily, but easily might not be the correct word.

So here I am writing my first blog, not easily, but writing. I’m going to resist the temptation to compare this to others then press delete. Maybe my thinking is shifting, slowly, reluctantly but it’s started. What are you holding yourself back from doing?
